Course Overview:
Programs vary in length, from a year to two years, and cover a wide range of treatments, preparing graduates for careers as beauty therapists, makeup artists, nail technicians, or spa professionals.
Course Responsibilities:-
- Consultation and analysis: Evaluate client needs through probing and conduct detailed skin and body analyses.
- Treatment delivery: Perform a variety of services, such as facials, massages, hair removal (waxing, electrolysis), and nail care (manicures, pedicures).
- Makeup application: Provide makeup advice and services, including eyebrow shaping and eyelash tinting.
- Product sales: Recommend and sell beauty products and additional treatments to clients.
Course Curriculum components:
- Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the structure and function of the human body, specifically the skin, hair, nails, and facial bones and muscles, to provide safe and effective treatments.
- Health, Safety, and Hygiene: Learning proper sanitation, sterilization, and disinfection protocols to maintain a clean and safe salon environment and prevent the spread of infection.
- Client Consultation and Communication: Mastering client handling skills, including understanding individual needs, concerns, medical history (contraindications), and providing appropriate aftercare advice.
- Cosmetic Science: Gaining knowledge of different cosmetic products, their ingredients, pH levels, and how they affect various skin and hair types.
- Professional Ethics and Salon Management: Covering personal grooming, professional behavior, reception duties, inventory management, marketing, and potentially the business skills needed to run a salon.

- Skin Care and Facials:
- Skin analysis techniques.
- Basic and advanced facial treatments (cleansing, toning, exfoliation, masks, moisturizers).
- Use of facial machines (steamer, high frequency, galvanic, vacuum suction).
- Treatments for specific skin conditions (acne, pigmentation, aging skin).
- Hair Removal:
- Waxing techniques for the face and body.
- Threading and tweezing for eyebrows and facial hair.
- Bleaching procedures.
- Nail Care:
- Manicure and pedicure techniques.
- Nail anatomy, disorders, and hygiene.
- Nail art and polishing techniques.
- Make-up Artistry:
- Knowledge of make-up tools and products.
- Day, evening, party, and bridal make-up application.
- Corrective make-up techniques (contouring, highlighting).
- Hair Care (often included):
- Shampooing, conditioning, and scalp treatments.
- Basic hair cutting and styling (blow-drying, thermal styling, braiding).
- Hair coloring and chemical treatments (perming, straightening).
Advanced and Specialized Modules (May vary by program)
- Body Treatments & Spa Therapies: Body massage techniques (Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone), body scrubs, wraps, and aromatherapy.
- Eyelash and Eyebrow Enhancements: Eyelash tinting, lifting, and extensions.
- Indian Traditional Beauty Concepts: Henna application (mehendi designing) and saree draping.
- Basic Nutrition and Diet: Understanding the impact of diet and lifestyle on skin, hair, and nail health.
- Practical Experience: Hands-on training in a salon environment or through internships is a key component to building confidence and proficiency.
- Job opportunities: Opportunities Graduates can work in salons, spas, and clinics, or pursue freelance and entrepreneurial roles like owning a salon or working as a bridal makeup artist.
