Course Overview:
These programs train individuals for roles in banks, credit card companies, and rating agencies by teaching them to analyze a borrower's ability to repay loans and other credit. Core skills learned include strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities, as well as a keen eye for detail.
Course Responsibilities:-
- Financial analysis: Evaluate financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements), credit history, and assets to determine a borrower's ability to repay.
- Risk assessment: Identify and assess the level of risk involved in extending credit, considering factors like market trends, economic indicators, and industry-specific factors.
- Recommendation and decision support: Make recommendations to lenders on whether to approve a loan or credit line, and help determine terms like interest rates and repayment plans.
- Reporting and documentation: Prepare detailed reports that summarize findings, often using charts and graphs, for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure all lending activities comply with relevant government policies, regulations, and internal protocols.
- Monitoring and maintenance: Monitor existing borrowers' creditworthiness and review loan portfolios to identify potential issues or fraud.
Communication and client interaction
- Client communication: Gather information from borrowers by asking questions and answering their inquiries about the loan application process.
- Internal collaboration: Work with other departments within an organization to ensure effective risk management.
