Course Overview:

          It’s designed to provide students with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications. These programs typically offer a focused curriculum, preparing individuals for entry-level roles in the web development industry. 

 

Course Responsibilities:-

Core technical responsibilities

  • Write code: Develop well-designed, efficient, and testable code using standard practices.
  • Create user interfaces: Build website layouts and user interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Integrate back-end services: Connect the front-end to various back-end services and databases.
  • Ensure responsiveness: Make sure websites function correctly and look good on all devices and browsers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug: Identify and fix errors, glitches, and bugs to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Build reusable code: Create reusable code and libraries for future projects. 

Project and maintenance responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand websites: Update existing websites and handle ongoing maintenance and expansion.
  • Develop new features: Implement and design new features and functionalities for websites and applications.
  • Design architecture: Help design the architecture of web applications.
  • Maintain documentation: Create and maintain software documentation for all changes and projects.
  • Implement security: Work on web application security features and ensure data security.
  • Perform backups: Regularly perform data backups to prevent loss in case of a crash. 

Collaboration and strategic responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams: Work with other developers, designers, testers, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Gather requirements: Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
  • Stay updated: Keep up with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Optimize performance: Work to optimize applications for scalability and speed

Core and foundational components

  • HTML and CSS: Structuring web content (HTML) and styling it with layouts and design principles (CSS).
  • JavaScript: Adding interactivity to web pages, including client-side scripting and working with the DOM.
  • Web standards: Understanding how the web works, web semantics, and accessibility best practices. 

Front-end development

  • Responsive design: Creating websites that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.
  • Front-end frameworks: Learning popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js to build robust and efficient user interfaces.
  • User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI): Focusing on design principles and creating user-friendly interfaces. 

Back-end development

  • Server-side languages: Programming with languages like Node.js or Python to handle server-side logic.
  • Databases: Working with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and languages like MySQL or SQL for data management.
  • APIs: Understanding and working with Application Programming Interfaces to connect different services. 

Deployment and tooling

  • Git and GitHub: Version control for tracking code changes and collaborating with others.
  • Deployment: Learning how to deploy applications online and make them accessible on a real domain.
