Course Overview:
This nail technology course covers an introduction to the nail care and enhancement section of the beauty therapy sector, giving you basic skills in areas such as manicures, pedicures, and nail art.
Course Responsibilities:-
Client and service responsibilities
- Assist with nail services: Help with manicures, pedicures, and advanced services like artificial nail enhancements (acrylics, gels) and nail art.
- Client consultation: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and recommend appropriate services and products.
- Client preparation: Prepare clients for services by removing old polish and soaking hands or feet.
- Nail care: Provide basic nail services, including cleaning, filing, shaping, and polishing nails.
Hygiene and safety
- Sanitize tools and equipment: Clean and sterilize all tools and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Maintain workspace: Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe for both clients and staff.
- Follow health and safety regulations: Adhere to all health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Salon operations
- Inventory management: Track and assist in ordering nail products and supplies.
- Appointment scheduling: Help with answering phones and scheduling client appointments.
- Client service: Provide excellent customer service and handle payments.
- General salon maintenance: Assist with keeping the overall salon neat and tidy.
Course Curriculum components:
- Nail Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the structure of the nail, nail growth, and how to identify diseases and disorders.
- Health, Safety, and Sanitation: Learning hygiene standards, sterilization, and how to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manicures and Pedicures: Performing basic and advanced services, including filing, buffing, and the application of polish.
- Nail Care and Products: Understanding different nail care products, their ingredients, and how to choose them for client needs.
- Nail Enhancements: Learning to apply and remove artificial nails, such as acrylics and gel nails.
- Nail Art and Design: Developing skills in basic and creative nail art techniques.
- Client Consultation: Learning how to communicate with clients and identify conditions that may affect treatment.
- Business and Career Preparation: Some programs may include modules on career prospects and setting up a business.
