Course Overview:

      These programs can range from one-year diploma programs to shorter certificate courses, with eligibility often requiring a 10th-grade education or equivalent. The curriculum typically includes a mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training. 

Course Responsibilities:-

Core responsibilities in the course and career

  • Diagnosis: Identifying vehicle problems using computerized diagnostic equipment and performing vehicle inspections to identify issues.
  • Repair: Fixing mechanical and electrical problems, which includes repairing or replacing faulty components and parts.
  • Maintenance: Performing regular care such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
  • System Overhaul: Taking apart, servicing, and testing major vehicle systems like the engine, charging system, starting system, and air conditioning system.
  • Component Repair: Working on various components, including engines, brakes, electrical systems, steering, and suspension.
  • Safety and Environment: Maintaining a healthy, safe, and secure working environment.
  • Documentation: Keeping records and reporting on work performed.
  • Driving: Learning to drive vehicles safely in accordance with traffic rules.

Core technical subjects

  • Engine Systems: Engine mechanics, operation, repair, and troubleshooting, including internal combustion engines.
  • Electrical and Electronic Systems: Battery, charging, starting, and ignition systems, wiring, sensors, ECUs, and the use of diagnostic tools.
  • Transmission and Drivetrain: Clutch systems, manual and automatic transmissions, gearboxes, differentials, and drive axles.
  • Brake Systems: Types of braking technologies (hydraulic, electronic, ABS), brake fluid service, and troubleshooting.
  • Steering and Suspension: Chassis design, suspension types, steering systems, and wheel alignment.
  • Fuel Injection Systems: Operation and maintenance of modern fuel systems.
  • HVAC Systems: Principles of automotive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. 

Practical and foundational skills 

  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Identifying and fixing issues in various vehicle systems using diagnostic equipment and methods.
  • Workshop and Safety Practices: Safe handling of tools, lifting equipment, and chemicals, as well as general workshop procedures.
