Course Overview:

         These courses often cover basic assembly, hardware and software installation, and networking fundamentals, preparing students for entry-level IT roles like technician or support specialist. The duration varies, but some options are as short as one month. 

 

Course Responsibilities:-

Core responsibilities

  • Assembling and installing: Putting together computer systems from individual components and installing hardware like motherboards, processors, RAM, and hard drives.
  • Maintenance and repair: Performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting to fix hardware malfunctions in PCs, peripherals, and other equipment.
  • Upgrading and optimization: Upgrading components and optimizing hardware performance to ensure systems run efficiently. 

Advanced and related responsibilities

  • Network support: Installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and cables, to ensure smooth communication.
  • Technical support: Providing technical assistance to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related problems.
  • System and server administration: Overseeing the daily operation of an organization's IT systems, including managing and maintaining servers.
  • Data center management: Installing and maintaining hardware within data centers for storage and processing.
  • User training: Training users on how to operate new or modified equipment and software

  • PC Architecture and Hardware: Covers the fundamental principles of PCs, identification and installation of internal components (CPU, RAM, motherboard), and the assembly and repair of desktop and laptop computers.
  • Operating Systems: Focuses on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of various operating systems, including Windows and Linux. This includes managing file systems, drivers, and using tools like Task Manager.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Teaches the basics of computer networks, including LAN, MAN, and WAN configurations, and the differences between peer-to-peer and server-based networks.
  • Network Devices and Cabling: Covers the operation and application of network devices such as NIC cards, switches, routers, and hubs, as well as different types of network cables (e.g., twisted pair, fiber optic).
  • System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Includes skills for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing data backups and recovery, and maintaining system security through techniques like setting up firewalls.
  • Software and Peripheral Installation: Covers the installation and configuration of software, drivers, and devices like printers, scanners, and plotters.
  • Introduction to Servers and Cloud: Some programs may include introductory modules on servers and basic cloud computing concepts.
