Course Overview:

Course Responsibilities:-
- Consult and communicate: Consult with clients to assess their needs, preferences, and any allergies or medical conditions. Explain available treatments and answer questions to help them choose the right services.
- Perform treatments: Administer a variety of spa treatments, including different types of massages, facials, and body therapies.
- Ensure client comfort: Create a relaxing and welcoming environment and ensure the client is comfortable and satisfied throughout their experience.
- Make recommendations: Suggest appropriate products and at-home care to clients, and up-sell spa services where possible.
Operational and safety responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness: Keep treatment rooms, equipment, and common areas clean and hygienic, following all spa protocols.
- Manage supplies: Ensure the spa is adequately stocked with necessary supplies and report any shortages.
- Handle records: Maintain detailed and confidential client records, including treatment history and preferences.
- Adhere to safety standards: Follow all health and safety regulations and report any accidents to management.
- Stay updated: Keep up-to-date on the latest spa trends, techniques, and products through training and independent learning.
Course Curriculum components:
Core Spa Therapies & Techniques
- Massage Techniques: Training in various full-body and specialized massages, such as Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, hot stone, Thai, Lomi Lomi, and Balinese massage.
- Body Treatments: Procedures including body scrubs, wraps, exfoliation techniques, and detoxification treatments using mud, seaweed, or herbal products.
- Hydrotherapy: Application and safety precautions for water-based treatments, including steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, Vichy showers, and herbal/mineral baths.
- Facial Treatments & Skincare: Fundamentals of skin anatomy, skin analysis, professional facial steps, use of masks and serums, and specialized treatments like anti-aging or high-frequency facials.
- Reflexology: Techniques for applying pressure to specific points on the feet and hands corresponding to different body organs and areas.
Foundational Knowledge
- Anatomy and Physiology: Detailed study of the human body's systems (skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous, integumentary, etc.) to understand how treatments affect the body and ensure safety.
- Aromatherapy: Knowledge of essential oils, carrier oils, and blends, and their appropriate application and benefits in spa treatments.
- Ayurvedic & Holistic Therapies: Introduction to the principles of Ayurveda (doshas, Panchakarma), and specific treatments like Abhyanga, Shirodhara, and Potli massage.
- First Aid & Safety: Protocols for emergencies, accident prevention, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Professional & Business Skills
- Hygiene and Sanitation: Strict adherence to personal grooming, workplace hygiene, and equipment sterilization standards to maintain a safe environment.
- Client Consultation & Management: Effective communication skills for client handling, conducting consultations, creating treatment plans, and record-keeping.
- Spa Operations & Management: Training in spa etiquette, booking procedures, inventory control, marketing, financial planning, and quality customer service.
