Course Overview:

     Supervising workers, ensuring adherence to production specifications, managing the workflow of a specific production line, and performing quality checks.

 

Course Responsibilities:-

  • Production and quality:
    • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production teams.
    • Monitor production progress to ensure it stays on schedule and meets daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
    • Ensure all finished garments meet specified quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Team management:
    • Assign tasks to workers based on their skills and experience.
    • Train new employees and provide ongoing training for existing ones.
    • Motivate the team to meet quotas and ensure they use equipment correctly.
    • Handle disciplinary issues like lateness or absenteeism, and address minor personal problems for team members.
  • Safety and compliance:
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards in the workplace.
    • Enforce safety protocols for handling machinery, fabrics, and chemicals.
    • Inspect machinery to ensure it is in safe working order.
    • Manage first aid and advise management on contacting emergency services if needed.
  • Process and cost control:
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods.
    • Identify and implement initiatives to improve production efficiency.
    • Monitor production costs and help maintain budgetary controls.
  • Communication and reporting:
    • Communicate production status and issues to management on a daily basis.
    • Liaise with other departments, such as training or maintenance.
    • Arrange sample submissions to customers for approval

 Course Curriculum components:

Production and technical skills

  • Production planning: Coordinating and planning production schedules to meet deadlines and specifications.
  • Machinery and equipment: Operating and maintaining equipment like spreading machines, sewing machines, and fabric inspection machines.
  • Fabric knowledge: Understanding different types of fabrics, fibers, and their construction.
  • Garment processes: Learning about the entire manufacturing process, including fabric cutting, sewing, pressing, and final packing.
  • Quality control: Inspecting work to ensure it adheres to quality and specification standards. 

Management and safety

  • Team management: Managing and coordinating workers, and maintaining good relations within the team.
  • Health and safety: Implementing and maintaining health, safety, and security measures in the production line.
  • Workplace maintenance: Keeping the work area, tools, and machinery clean and in good working order. 

Compliance and reporting

  • Regulatory compliance: Complying with industry, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Performance monitoring: Monitoring production performance against the set plan, schedule, and quality norms. 

Soft skills

  • Leadership: Leading and coordinating a team of workers to achieve production goals.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with the team, other departments, and management. 

 Job opportunities:

                Job pursue careers in fashion design, garment production, tailoring, and apparel technology. Opportunities exist in clothing brands, boutiques, textile mills, or as entrepreneurs .
